Quality Assurance Engineerr - Utility Storage

Responsibilities

  • Plan, perform and monitor inspection and testing of BESS to confirm quality conformance to specifications and quality deliverables
  • Support project execution and supply chain in tracking, documenting and reporting quality levels and environmental and health and safety goals/KPIs
  • Facilitate factory acceptance testing of equipment, reviewing test protocols and reports 
  • Conduct site inspections, monitor quality issues and report to management
  • Analyse and investigate equipment quality issues to ensure closure in accordance with company policy and external regulatory requirements
  • Develop/update company quality assurance and inspection procedures, best practices, checklists, etc.
  • Collect customer feedback and feed this into the company's QA strategy
  • Organise regular internal dissemination briefings for updates on company QA policies, lessons learned, etc.

Requirements

  • Relevant engineering degree or qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in quality assurance and inspection of electrical equipment in the context of solar PV and/or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects
  • Must have experience of equipment factory testing and site inspections
  • Familiar with relevant UK and international electrical standards, regulations and legislation (BS 7671, 18th edition, IEC etc)
  • Organised and meticulous, with a technical understanding of storage systems, electrical standards and regulations
  • Ability to adapt to dynamic conditions and maintain focus/achieve objectives under tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with multiple parties (contractors, suppliers, customer representatives)
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Must be willing and able to travel regularly to support existing & new energy storage sites 
  • Possesses a passion for your work, strong communication skills, a flexible and positive attitude, and a structured and committed way of working
  • Languages: Fluent English and other additional European language is a plus
