Responsibilities
Role Summary:
The Senior Contracts & Service Business Development Manager – is responsible for driving the commercial success, legal robustness, and long-term value of the supplier’s service and aftersales portfolio. This hybrid role combines contract leadership, service business development, and commercial governance across the entire lifecycle of Battery Energy Storage projects. The position is central to negotiating Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSAs), managing service contracts, ensuring contractual compliance, resolving commercial issues, and supporting commissioning and warranty processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service Business Development & Commercial Growth
- Develop service product offerings such as LTSAs, maintenance packages, extended warranties, and spare part programs.
- Support Sales during tenders and customer meetings with technical-commercial input.
- Build pricing models and profitability analyses for service offerings.
2. LTSA Negotiation & Contract Structuring (Pre-Sales)
- Lead and assist in negotiation and contract development for all LTSA and service proposals – both with customers and service partners
- Review customer RFPs and specifications to identify risks and required deviations.
- Negotiate service scope, SLAs, performance guarantees, warranty terms, and liabilities.
- Align commitments with engineering and operational capabilities.
3. Aftersales Contract Governance & Compliance
- Manage the full portfolio of active service contracts and LTSAs.
- Ensure compliance with obligations including maintenance scope, KPIs, reporting, and warranty terms.
- Lead commercial responses to underperformance, penalties, disputes, and claims.
- Coordinate with Service and Analytics teams to verify performance guarantees such as Availability and CRTE.
4. Commercial Issue Resolution & Claims Management
- Lead resolution of issues related to LDs, performance shortfalls, warranty claims, and deviations.
- Develop mitigation strategies and provide commercial leadership during disputes.
- Coordinate root-cause evidence and supporting documentation with engineering teams.
- Act as senior point of contact for customer commercial matters.
5. Support for Commissioning & Warranty Governance
- Ensure commissioning deliverables meet contractual acceptance requirements.
- Support documentation and variation management during project delivery.
- Address delays, changes, and liability disputes arising during commissioning.
- Oversee warranty procedures and assess validity of customer claims.
6. Contract Templates, Process Development & Governance
- Maintain and evolve standard templates for LTSAs, service contracts, and commissioning agreements.
- Implement approval workflows and contract risk classification.
- Improve cross-functional understanding of obligations and risks.
